Another Bag O' Money!

Billions of dollars and thousands of lives have been spent to track down and kill one man. We have all been told that this man was an evil person who was responsible for the deaths of many including the World Trade Center bombing and "9/11". We have been told that this man and his followers were a terrible threat to the peace and safety of the world.

"Bin Laden has been implicated in a string of deadly attacks on the United States and its allies..."

The crowds rejoice about a man being murdered without trial or due process by those that watch over and rule them?

The Truth, The Whole Truth, And Nothing But The Truth?

Perhaps a lot of what we have been told about bin Laden is true. There can be no doubt that not all of it is true for we have been told conflicting "stories" over the years. And now the interesting position Pakistan finds itself in when the bogeyman is discovered within their camp.

Why dump the body at sea? Will divers find the body? Will we start seeing bin Laden parts offered on eBay? Or did they wait and make sure the sharks had their fill before leaving? People will wonder about this and many other questions for years to come because of the way they got rid of the body. All-new conspiracy theories will be launched and old ones revived.

We sit at home watching TV, surfing the Internet or listening to the radio and we hear about what this person or that country has done. We talk about it at work, school and wherever else we gather. We make our judgments based upon lies, half truths and omissions and we shout "OJ is guilty!" when in reality we know very little or nothing about the actual facts.

I remember when the OJ Simpson case was big news and there were many people who wanted to just kill him right then. He had not yet been through the trial but the general public had already convicted him in their minds and wanted him strung up. I am in no way defending Simpson here or attempting to make a judgment on his guilt or innocence. I only use the case as an example of how quickly and easily ordinary folks can turn into an angry lynch mob.

I Don't Know

I believe there can be a power that comes from saying "I don't know". *If you "know" then you may be closed off to taking in new information. "I already know all about that. No need to read this or listen to that..." If you don't know then you are open to learning and knowing. In today's global world most everything we think we know we were actually told by various authority figures who were themselves just human beings afflicted with their own desires and motives. It is not only possible but too common a situation - too often we think we "know" something as a fact even though it never was.

What do you personally know to be the truth about bin Laden and all of this?

Guantanamo Bay and the atrocities that were committed there are far from gone from memory. Oh, but I suppose all of this is OK as long as it is being done to foreigners huh? If anyone of us clings to the notion that tactics like this would never be used on the "tax payers" I am afraid that in time we may be proven wrong. (Hello? Anyone remember Ruby Ridge, Waco, Kent State...)

The Lynch Mob Mentality

Lynch Mob mentality is very similar to the "Sheeple" syndrome (What is a Sheeple?). Most of us have seen it over and over in the movies and many of us can recognize it in every day life. It's an old, old story but often studied and repeated. This dude owns nearly everything in this frontier town but he wants more. One guy refuses to sell. The big rich dude and his lackeys arrange for a murder or some crime and frame the guy. They get the population all riled up and wanting to hang him. It

Lynch Mob mentality! It's called MANIPULATION folks. We are being manipulated by the politicians (which includes a plethora of lobbyists and special interest groups) and by the advertising executives! Now imagine what would happen if businessman, politicians and advertising executives all got together; is it possible that politics could become a money making deal? Hmmm they might be able to manipulate the masses to a fair extent.

The World is Now a Safer Place?

Bang! Bang! Wait! Where's my gun?

President Barack Obama proudly declared the killing of Osama bin Laden, "a good day for America." The President also told us the world was now a safer place without this terrorist. Does this mean that beginning on May 02 terrorist activity will decrease? At the same time the news folks are warning everyone not to travel abroad as there may be some anti-American activity or retaliatory attacks. Warnings of terrorist attacks have also been mentioned.

So which is it?

Are we safer or are we in more danger and in need of protection than ever? If we are safer and the object of our fear has been murdered and dumped in the sea then what of Homeland Security? Is it no longer needed? Does this mean that the troops will be returned to American soil? How long oh how long has that promise been dangled in front of us? Soon there will be people entering college who have seen nothing but a state of war their entire lives. How long? And to what end? None of us really know the answers to those questions!

If we are now in more danger than before because of the fear of retaliatory attacks and "anti-American" violence then perhaps they may extend the reach and control of Homeland Security removing even more rights from the "Tax Payers of America". Maybe in the future bloggers who post such drivel as this will be water boarded or worse yet be forced to listen to Garth Brooks. But until then...

So What Is The Point Here?

I am not defending or accusing Bin Laden. I am not making any statement other than these and these statements are about world events and news in general:

WHAT DO WE REALLY KNOW? 

I BELIEVE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO SEPARATE WHAT WE ACTUALLY KNOW FROM WHAT WE DO NOT. 

WE ALL NEED TO BE HARD CORE SKEPTICS WHEN IT COMES TO INFORMATION HANDED DOWN TO US FROM THE POLITICIANS AND AD EXECUTIVES OF THIS WORLD. 

DON'T BE A SHEEPLE. CONSIDER AND THINK BUT DO NOT TAKE FOR GRANTED WHAT YOU HEAR IS THE TRUTH

I wish everyone the best in this world both in love and living. This has been my own opinions. My intent was not to analyze the crap going on about bin Laden but the people's reactions to it. If I wrote anything here that offended or upset you then chances are you misread something and should go back and read it again. If you are still offended then, well... I do regret that but I will stick to what I have written - barring any typos ;0}

Why Are You Writing About Politics All The Time?
